Using coathangers to store handbags. I find this an easy way to keep them together, in shape, and part of my regular wardrobe.
And just a comment on the silver one. It belonged to my Nan, and is about 40 years old. I love the idea of inter-generational style, and using and enjoying something beautiful for decades. Whenever there's a wedding or event to attend, if I'm not using it, one of my sisters might borrow it.
Do you have any possessions that have been used by generations of your family, or that you share the use of with family or friends?
A great suggestion for storing handbags, I find these are an item that falls into the category of 'creeping up in number' - more often than not, without knowing! This probably occurs because I have them stored in a box and just add the next one to it as it comes along because I am not a 'handbag' person. One or two special ones and the everyday one is all I tend to use. And hanging them in the wardrobe would help remind me to use them once in a while. Therefore, I have come to the realisation that it far better someone else gets their full use and enjoyment rather than cluttering up another box in my cupboard. My favourite item to borrow are light summer dresses from my sister for special occasions and it costs under $10 for postage! Much cheaper than buying one!

I love your idea for special occasions, I might have to try that one.
And yes, handbags are meant to be used - there is really no other reason to keep them!
